Please bring a non-perishable food item to the November guild meeting
This month we are focusing on SOS and giving back. The following organizations have received quilts from SOS. Representatives from HACAP, ABBE Center, Habitat for Humanity, and Families Helping Families will be speaking to our guild.
9:00 am Meeting Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP) is a diverse, community-focused nonprofit dedicated to the sustained improvement of human life in our communities. HACAP focuses on 5 initiatives, which provide solutions to locally identified issues. These five initiatives, Food & Nutrition, Veteran Support, Energy Conservation, Children, and Homelessness are comprised of over 20 programs focused on community betterment and individual self-sustainability.
ABBE Center. Representatives from the Penn Center and Aging Service will be speaking to our guild about their programs as well as other groups, including Milestones Adult Daycare and Linn County Daycare.
6:30 pm Meeting Habitat for Humanity. “At Habitat for Humanity, we build. We build because we believe that everyone, everywhere, should have a healthy, affordable place to call home. More than building homes, we build communities, we build hope and we build the opportunity for families to help themselves.”
Families Helping Families. FHF’s mission is to meet the needs of youth who have been abused or neglected to allow them to have the same chance as their peers to be healthy and productive citizens.

What Have You Been Up To Lately?
EIHQ Snow Policy
If the Cedar Rapids Community School District (CRCSD) cancels classes due to weather, then the EIHQ will not meet. If the CRCSD runs on a 2-hour delay, EIHQ will hold the workshop beginning at 1:00 pm and the evening meeting. If the CRCSD lets school out early, there will not be an evening meeting.

We sew quilts and donate to many organizations. To those who need a quilt - our veterans, flood or fire victims, those that need a hug or a wrap to stay warm. Hundreds of quilts are donated yearly. READ MORE
