August will be our month to get patriotic. The Show and Tell will focus on red, white and blue or patriotic quilts.
You can wear a patriotic outfit or a historical costume. I will be wearing what I made 50 years ago at our bicentennial, with some adjustments for added weight. I encourage you to feel our country’s historical spirit and join me in some fun memories. I plan to bake some patriotic sugar cookies to share

This month we will learn how to “Scrap up your stash” with Lori Dickman. I have fabric stash that is just begging for a speedy way to get sewn.
For the July Presidents Challenge: Work on a UFO or pull some fabric that you would like to slash.

Greetings to “We the Quilters.” We are two months into our country’s semi-quincentennial. Our guild has repaired 189 flags from Cedar Memorial. Our deadline is to have all flags finished by our March meeting.
Return finished flags at the next meeting or the Quilt of Valor shop. Call me if you need help finishing (920) 988-1339.

My other President’s Challenge is to help repair veteran’s flags from Cedar Memorial at the QOV studio in Lindale Mall. I will be there every Tuesday from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. You may also check them out to work at home. As with any big job, many hands make light work which you will enjoy next Memorial Day.
