Fourth Clue

Building Our Walkway

We now have our grass, sun and sky.  Let's build the walkway that will pass through our garden.

You need 2 - 4 patches (yellow and green) and 1 pinwheel (blue and white).

Now you make a rectangle brick.

4 Patch - Pinwheel - 4 Patch

Make sure your 4 patch has the green square on the top right and bottom left, on both sides of your brick.

Check out the picture!!

You will need 82 pieced bricks.

They should measure 3 1/2" X 9 1/2"

Cropped Bricks!

You always need a few edge bricks along the walkway....

For these you need a 4 patch, a pinwheel and a split 4 patch triangle.

The 4 patch has the green square in the top right corner and the bottom left corner.  The pinwheel.  And then the split 4 patch triangle - the triangle made with the green square and two yellow triangles.  The split 4 patch triangle has the green square next to the pinwheel on the bottom right.

Look at the picture!!

You need 6 cropped bricks.

Finishing Edge Brick

These will be the little ones to finish off the walkway.

This will take a 4 patch and a split pinwheel.

Pay attention to the placement of your green on your 4 patches and add your split pinwheel with the split color square by the bottom right yellow of the 4 patch.

Check this picture - closely!!

If your pinwheels turn the same way mine do, then this is correct!

This will work when we lay it all out!!

You need 4 of these smaller edge bricks.
