Welcome to the East Iowa Heirloom Quilters (EIHQ) website.  We invite you, as a member or guest to enjoy your visit.  Please use this site as a source of information about our Guild and its programs and activities, as well as a resource for information about quilting activities in and around the Cedar Rapids/Marion area.

Meeting Times and Location Guild meetings are the fourth Monday of every month at 9 am and 7 pm, except October and December.  The annual meeting is held the fourth Monday in October at 7 pm.  There is no meeting in December.  Meetings are held at the American Legion Building at 625 31st Street in Marion.   For Mapquest directions, please click here.

How to Join Membership is open to anyone interested in quilting. The Guild year runs from October 1 to September 31. Dues are $30.00 per year payable in September.  Guests are always welcome! After one visit, guests are requested to become guild members. For new members joining after April 1, dues are $15.00. Junior membership, intended for children interested in quilting, is $10 per year.  For a membership form click here.    For more information about membership, click here.

SEPTEMBER 27 GUILD MEETING - MAGGIE WEISS      Guild Meeting  Maggie Weiss 9 AM Lecture:  "Thermofax Silkscreen Story" 7 PM Lecutre:   "Personal Geography-Mapping Life in Quilts"     Workshop  Time:  1-4 pm Workshop:  "Thermofax Silkscreen Basics" Cost of Workshop and Kit:  $45 (kit required; does not include additional supplies)    Description of Workshop In this three hour workshop you will do screen assembly, mounting on frames, and printing with paint.  Maggie will also demonstrate discharge paste (agent for safely removing color from natural fibers).   You should bring several samples of images that you think will make interesting silk screens so they can be discussed.
