About Us

 

The East Iowa Heirloom Quilt Guild (EIHQ) is a chartered organization with over 350 members from the Cedar Rapids/Marion and surrounding areas.  Meetings are on the fourth Monday of every month at 9 am and 7 pm, except October and December.  The annual meeting is held the fourth Monday in October at 7 pm preceded with a potluck dinner at 6 pm.  There is no meeting in December.  Meetings are held at the American Legion Building at 625 31st Street in Marion, IA. Members range from gifted and talented quilters with lots of experience to beginning quilters. 

We welcome everyone interested in quilting.  Guests are always welcome to come to meetings with no charge for the first meeting.  Members range from gifted and talented quilters with lots of experience to beginning quilters.  We welcome everyone interested in quilting.   After the first meeting we know you will want to join.  The Guild offers a wide range of programs, workshops, and activities to meet the needs and interests of traditional quilters as well as those interested in art and contemporary quilts.  The Quilt Guild is an energetic group of people who love quilts, share ideas, learn from each other and have fun. 

 

About Us - Membership

By joining EIHQ, you gain many benefits. We bring in many wonderful presenters to the monthly meetings. You'll receive the monthly Newsletters. As a member you have first chance to register for classes, bus trips, and quilt retreats and do not have to pay the additional non-member fee for attendance. Members may borrow materials from the Library, participate in the Block of the Month and Fat Quarter Lottery. You also have the opportunity to show your completed projects during Show and Tell. At the annual meeting members vote for the new Board of Directors. And most importantly being a member of EIHQ provides a great opportunity to meet other people who share your love of quilting The following information is available for download as PDF files.
